The bill will next be considered by the Senate, where it is expected to undergo significant revisions to garner the support of all 50 Democratic senators needed for passage, which would then be sent back to the House to consider the revised bill. As we’ve noted previously, the House-passed version unfortunately does not include assisted living. However, we are actively working with several Senators who are intent on inserting provisions that have been consistently left behind in other pieces of legislation. These next few weeks, while the Senate negotiates modifications to the House-passed package, are the most important for the future of senior living.
