Tips to Prepare for COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

At Argentum, we’ve recently participated in a number of calls on the upcoming COVID-19 vaccination distribution plans. Here, we are sharing some information on the latest plans to date and tips on how to best prepare.

As of now, Operation Warp Speed estimates that the first wave of vaccines (6.4 million doses) will be delivered Dec. 15 and will be almost exclusively for health care providers. The second wave (40 million doses) is estimated to be delivered Dec. 22. HHS Secretary Azar indicated in a recent briefing that he is hopeful states follow the CDC’s recommendations to have “maximum effect”.

In order to be prepared for upcoming vaccinations at your communities, we strongly encourage you to:

  • Review your state(s) Department of Health website to review COVID-19 vaccine plans.
  • Confirm with the appropriate state official(s) or state agencies in charge of vaccination distribution that your residents and staff are at the top of the priority list for receiving COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Establish a connection with the appropriate individual(s) at local health departments to collaborate on vaccine distribution and education efforts.
  • Schedule a call with your state official(s) in charge of vaccination distribution in the next 10 days to ensure planning considerations are moving forward and to identify any issues prior to distribution.

We will be sharing additional details about vaccination plans as we learn of them.
