The second week of Argentum’s five-week campaign encouraging the administration to “Release the PRF” is underway! We are pleased to share that this week, Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) began circulating a Congressional sign-on letter to their Senate colleagues on the urgent need for HHS to release additional provider relief funds.
The letter specifically notes why funding must be released ASAP:
- The PRF funding distribution process has been uneven.
- Shifting guidance, difficulties in reconciling tax information, the absence of a formal appeals process, and other technical problems have plagued the program.
- Some providers are still waiting for funding from PRF distributions that were announced last year.
- Plans for additional PRF distributions have been opaque.
- Financial losses occurring between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 have not been adequately considered.
- Some providers, such as senior care facilities, have been underrepresented in previous rounds of funding.
CALL TO ACTION: Argentum’s lobbyists will be reaching out to Senate offices to join the letter, and this week we are asking for your help to amplify our message by emailing your senators. Take action by clicking here to send an email directly to your senators asking them to join the Collins-Shaheen letter.
Argentum's campaign to "Release the PRF" combines direct outreach to the administration, grassroots engagement, strategic media placements, and Congressional support to encourage the Biden administration to release remaining provider relief funds as soon as possible. We are calling on all senior living advocates to join us each week to ensure our message is amplified as loud as possible.
