Human Infrastructure is Next on the Agenda

Written by Argentum | November 10, 2021 at 9:45 PM

After passing the bipartisan infrastructure package late last Friday and sending to President Biden for his consideration, the House signaled that it plans to pass its version of the Build Back Better act (reconciliation/human infrastructure) potentially as soon as the week of November 15.

While we remain deeply disappointed that this version of the legislation still does not include senior living and is unlikely to be modified before it is considered on the House floor, we are hopeful that these may be addressed given the significant interest in the Senate to make changes to the bill and include provisions that have not been addressed in recent major pieces of legislation.

These next few weeks could not be more important to the future of the industry, and it's why we need every Argentum Advocate as possible engaged in our campaign efforts.

Billboards, banners, and signage continue to get placed throughout the country, amplifying our message and getting the attention of lawmakers. We are also continuing to get the attention of press, especially in several key states. On Sunday, the Mesa Tribune published an op-ed submitted by Karen Barno, President and CEO of the Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America.

If you have not already done so, please take action by sending a pre-written message to the White House and your federal lawmakers. And then share the campaign and StandingwithSeniors.com to your friends and colleagues. All of us acting together is what will increase the visibility of the campaign and get the attention of lawmakers who are best positioned to help.
