Earlier today, the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging held its first hearing focused specifically on assisted living in more than twenty-years. The hearing included discussion on long-term care affordability and transparency, workforce challenges, the role of private investment and government oversight, and national standards, among other issues. To learn more about the hearing and how Argentum is responding, Argentum Advocates are invited to join us for our monthly policy briefing, next Wednesday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Argentum Advocates Member Briefing
Wednesday, January 31, 2024
2:00 PM ET
For weeks leading up to the hearing, Argentum worked closely with Senate offices to tell the story of assisted living, relaying our cost-effectiveness, high resident satisfaction, taxpayer savings, workforce needs, and resident safety. Additionally, we launched a grassroots letter-writing campaign “Why I Love My Assisted Living Community” for assisted living residents and their families, caregivers, and other advocates to tell their story personally on what makes their assisted living community special. These messages are sent directly to Senate offices so they better understand our industry at a personal level for communities located in their states. If you haven't sent a message yet, we encourage you to tell your story while assisted living is fresh in lawmakers minds.
Please note, next week's briefing is open only to members of Argentum Advocates. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!
